Dr. Myles
Munroe of blessed memory in his book ‘maximizing your potential’ gave a
shocking awaken when he said that the richest place in the world is not wall
street, New York neither is it Hong Kong; the business heart of Asia. It is not
the streets of London neither is it the oil desert of Abu Dhabi. The richest
place in the world is the grave yard, meaning that true potentials, limitless
abilities and unknown innovations were buried along with people who refused to
maximize their lives.
Ladies and
gentlemen, the world may have seen great business empire spanning from
countries to another but it is yet to see the peak of what man is capable of
doing. We may have seen technological and scientific breakthroughs evolve over
time, and although they have changed our lifestyle and improved living, we are
yet to see the peak of what man is capable of doing.
Another reason why we do not maximize
life is because we park the bus! Some of you are quick to say Jose Mourinho is the only one
who parks buses but you should have a rethink because many times in life all of
us are guilty of parking the bus. Rather than become mountain climbers, we have
become valley campers. We hardly ask ourselves the question “what next
can be done?” We get satisfied too easily, we get a little result and we are so
comfortable, we reach comfort zone at ease. We place a lid on our thinking
capacity, we under-utilize our instinct and imaginative powers. We become comfortable
with how far we have gone so we relax and say “I have arrived, I have made some
money, I am now the manager, and I am now a senior partner. There is nothing to
be dome again.” So we are campers, we are parking the bus all the time!
Francis Bacon
says, “God has placed no limit to the exercise of the intellects he has given
us.”
Voltaire, a
popular writer and great philosopher writes, “God gave us the gift of life, it
is up to us to give ourselves the gift of living intelligently well.” So a
maximized life is a gift you alone can give yourself.
Take a stand
and be a man who is willing to maximize life in your journey of success. Always
remember more can be done. You are the
only individual permitted to limit your own production. You are the one who
determines how much you want to get out of life!
My friend, the
best voices are not on radio yet, the best footballers are not even in the league
yet, the best researchers are not in the laboratory yet, the best corporate
leaders, the CEOs and MDs are even yet to start their own businesses. The best
teachers are even yet to be in school themselves. The best guys are yet to be
revealed.
You are the
one we are waiting for, please be ready to maximize your life. To be honest with
you, if you choose not to maximize your life, you put all of us in trouble. Believe
me, it is not about the color of your skin, it is about understanding that you
must reach maximum productivity in your life delivery. Make a resolution to
live life to the maximum, empty yourself to the world and be a solution rather
than be a problem.
