MAXIMIZE YOUR LIFE (II)

HELLO FRIEND,
The resources of mankind are not in the gold reserve of South Africa, neither are they in the commodity market of Brasilia, Brazil or the tourism sector of Bahamas, neither is the strength of the world in the high rise buildings of New York nor the robots of japan. It is not in the islands of the Caribbean nor the antiquities of Europe. The greatest resource of mankind is yet to be tapped. The greatest resource that man has is the one that is embedded within him; it is yet to be revealed.

Ignorance is one key reason why people do not live a maximized life. Ignorance is manifested in lies. Listen to this, people have been constantly told lies about what they are and what they are not. Billions of people have been subconsciously mentored by the system of things to strive to achieve what they cannot, but forget what they can.

Institutions of life have instructed us to focus on our weaknesses and ignore our strengths, so because of this a larger percentage of humans live life thinking that they are fools, unworthy, incapable, and that they are average. There is an esteem issue because there is a way institutions of man have been structured such that we do not vantage in our strength but we begin to demean ourselves. The insufficiency mentality is a lie that has been validated by the socio-educational system. Society is yet to realize that some people cannot just think algebra through but they can do quick thinking on the football pitch. So what the society advises is that you quit football because you will do better solving equations and becoming an engineer. The society is yet to agree that some people are good with creative arts, maybe tailoring; they just can turn a piece into a label. Their thinking lid is off when it comes to redesigning, reshaping - artistic intelligence. Their brain has a craft for you as they analyze various body shapes but society tells them to quit fashion and take up the status quo. Ignorance is manifested in lies. We try to be the best in what we are not natural in so we can only be average or at best, good at it. Better is far too ahead, we can’t get there. The society is yet to come to terms with the fact that some people do not have oratory intelligence like Martin Luther king, neither do they have scientific intelligence like Isaac Newton but they have sporting intelligence like that of Kobe Bryan and Roger Federer.

The socio-educational system especially in this part of the world is lying to the people and that is why fewer people are really living their dreams and maximizing their lives. This is typical of what our educational system does to people. It gathers the monkey, elephant, goat, fish, bird, snail and tortoise and it says to them "for a fair selection every one of you must take the same test, please climb the tree behind you." Well, your guess is as good as mine, who doesn’t know that the bird need not climb the tree, it will just fly and it is on top of the tree. The monkey will jump, the elephant is in trouble because its weight will even bring down the whole tree, and the fish should not even try because it’s an impossibility for the fish. The snail will spend the whole lifetime trying to climb that same tree. Therefore, the bird and monkey should quit bragging about their qualities until they have been tested in water along with the fish because everybody is a genius but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid. Those were the words of a great scientist, Albert Einstein

Today, resolve to maximize your life, I understand that there is ignorance but you have got to understand that you are better at what you are already good at. Develop your strength and live a better life. You too can be the next problem solver for all of us and we are all waiting for you

MAXIMIZE YOUR LIFE

To maximize means to prioritize something, to get the best possible outcome from a resource. Maximizing life then means to live the highest quality of life. To place maximum priority on life such that it becomes fulfilling and not a waste in the end. A maximized life is a life that is in a race to die empty. The person who understands his place in the scheme of fate and decides to deliver all – his or her best for the good of others. Until nothing is left in you that is meant for mankind, then you have maximized this life. Until you have delivered all your potentials for the betterment of mankind, then you have lived a truly successful life. Let us see a few reasons why people don’t live a maximized life.

Ignorance – people truly do not know the capacities and capabilities that are resident within them. What we do not know, we cannot vantage in it. Ignorance means lack of knowledge. Oftentimes people have misconstrued information for knowledge. Information can be anything whereas knowledge is information that benefits you and adds value to you. This means that not all information adds value. So as a matter of fact you may need to be careful because the school learning system may turn you into an information junkie yet you are an ignorant person simply because you have learnt things that are necessary and unnecessary but the primary essence of learning becomes lost. Albert Einstein was one time asked by an interviewer “sir, how many inches are in a mile?” he replied saying “I don’t know”. With a surprise look and obviously angered countenance, the reporter asked “how do you mean? You are a revered teacher and scientist, you should know that.” Einstein with a smile on his face said why should I bother myself with common information that any book around carries? But I would rather concentrate on things that matter; and that is thinking.

The whole essence of learning is to improve your thinking. Therefore, ignorance is not lack of books or lack of information; ignorance is lack of thinking. So when a man knows and he is not improved in his thinking then he is as well a man that does not know anything. So any man who reads too much but uses his brain too little falls into lazy habit of thinking. So when people do not know the deep  potentials they possess, neither do they know the strength they have, how do we expect them to function in that respect? Ignorance is tantamount to a traffic policeman who is seen running across a zebra cross so as to prevent a coming vehicle from knocking him down. Only if the policeman knew that he doesn’t just have to walk across the zebra cross alone, he equally has a right to enforce the traffic law and arrest offenders.

Ignorance is deadly! One reason why life is less than maximum is because we are ignorant of our capabilities.
My dear friend, don’t waste your life, you are an embodiment of solutions. You are a custodian of spectacular resources. Challenge yourself, raise the bar and become who you are meant to be.

EYE THE FUTURE, ENJOY THE MOMENT (III)

I am aware of people who re-married after a loss of spouse or even a divorce. I know people can go back to re-school, people can re-form, we can even re-use things as well.  So there are all sorts of “re” but I have never heard of re-time, because time can never be relieved. You cannot relief a moment, you can only relish the same moment. Mind you, you can’t truly relish a moment you haven’t truly enjoyed. The experiences of the moment, the fun, the challenges, the sweetness in the moment is what is relished but if you are that kind of person who ignores the present and focuses entirely on the future too much, of course you may likely get into that desired future but you would have missed a lot of things on the way.

People don’t remember dates, they remember moments. For instance, if a lady were to give me experiences on the first thirty (30) years of her life, she obviously can’t give me hourly or daily counts but definitely I am going to be expecting details of moments in her life. Moments like her tenth (10th ) birthday, her twenty first (21st ) birthday. She will probably still remember her first date, her first kiss. She will remember how the guy proposed to her. She will remember her graduation day. She will likely remember her wedding day. She will remember her first day at work. She will even remember some disaster days too. So people may not remember dates but they can’t forget moments of their lives.

Let me make you know that when you perceive success as a destination you must reach, then you are likely to have your eyes on the mark and you possibly leave out other marks and believe me, success is not a goal or destination you must reach, it is a journey! because after you reach a goal, does that mean that is all you have to do? Or even if you don’t reach the goal does that suggest that you have failed? No! Success is a journey and on a journey there are several landmarks. There are stop signs, bumps on the road, patchy areas, directional signs, curvatures, bends and many more. All these are the experiences that culminates into success. So quote me; “the process itself is the success” that is, the things you picked up on your way to the top are equally important, not just getting to the top. If you jump you will come down, but if you grow up you will stay up because the earlier person who jumped up ignored the process while the latter understands the process and the factors in the process. So the future is one step at a time. You trying to vacate the present in other to live in the future is not especially a good idea. Today must be enjoyed just as tomorrow will be enjoyed. The only danger is if the future is mortgaged by our actions today but if it is not then it makes simple sense to secure tomorrow as well as vantage in the now.

I personally believe that your best life is today, there will be nothing to talk or jest about or even grin about if all we do is worry about the future. Imagine you having to think all the time about the better life you want to create in marriage for your wife and kids, you are consumed such that you are beginning to get worried, your plans to achieving that may just be blurred because you are not likely to think straight any longer. Focusing heavily on the future while ignoring the present is like starving all week, saving all your money to eat a nice delicacy on Saturday in a 4-star restaurant. Imagine what foolishness that is. When you eye the future too much without vantaging today, it is tantamount to a boxer who is saving all his energy to fight a big opponent so he is not training hard right now

Those who enjoy today are those who enjoy tomorrow. If anyone teaches you otherwise, it is a false success principle. I have heard people say those who suffer today enjoy the future, which is not true because pain and misery are not the same. Pain is necessary but misery is optional. You can choose not to suffer today yet you enjoy today and you will enjoy tomorrow. If you suffer too much, you may be absent tomorrow when it finally comes. Please enjoy your today and plan for tomorrow.
